At St Mary’s NHS Treatment Centre we offer free NHS treatments to all patients. You are not required to pay if you are an NHS patient and have been referred for treatment by your GP.
If you are unable to receive the treatment you need on the NHS, but don’t have private health insurance, look for this icon to discover the option of paying for yourself.
A knee arthroscopy is used to investigate knee problems, including inflammation and injury, or to repair damaged tissue or remove a Baker’s Cyst. An arthroscope – a telescope on a long, thin cord – is inserted through small cuts in the skin. Arthroscopies enable the patient to recover faster from surgery.
Total knee replacement surgery involves replacing diseased or damaged joint surfaces in the knee with metal and plastic components shaped to allow continued motion of the knee.
Please be aware that we are not affected by the NHS announcement to cancel all non-urgent surgery; if you are booked in for an appointment or surgery with us it will still go ahead.
