Our unfaltering dedication to quality has led to the application of all evidence based innovation to procedures and ongoing improvements to the patient experience. This helps us to ensure that the care we deliver is second to none. We are confident that our clinical best practice and expertise will benefit patients for many years to come.
As a provider of NHS services our approach to governance brings together clinical excellence, information security, health and safety and risk management. We know that our performance is a vital part of trusting us to care for you, your patients or loved ones, which is why we want to share the following information with you.
100% clean record against hospital-acquired infections
We take infection prevention and control extremely seriously, and understand patients’ concerns about nasty superbugs. Because we only deal with scheduled care, you can rest assured that there are robust measures in place, such as following NHS England best practice guidelines about swabbing relevant at risk patients, to ensure everyone is given the best chance of protection against the likes of C.Difficile and MRSA.
Our patient-led assessments of the care environment (PLACE) scores, which see patients rate us on various aspects of our service, highlight the cleanliness of our hospital too, with a rating of 99.4%
Rated ‘Good’ in 2016!
Our service is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), England’s independent regulator of health and adult social care. This means that we are required to uphold their exacting standards for safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care. Read the report from our latest inspection here.
100% of patients would recommend our hospital
The NHS Friends and Family Test (FFT) was created to help hospitals like us understand whether patients are happy with the service provided, or whether improvements are needed. It is a quick and anonymous way for patients to give their views after receiving care or treatment across the NHS.
The FFT has been rolled out across most NHS services and more than 25 million pieces of patient feedback have been submitted since its launch in 2013. Our average FFT score in 2017 shows us that 100% of patients would recommend our service to their friends and family. Learn more about FFT here.
Our Patient Advice Line gives patients the opportunity to speak with our clinicians about any post-operative concerns they might have; this is another way we ensure safe and successful recovery.
We even have a physiotherapy mobile app, Pocket Physio, with videos of simple but effective exercises that patients can do at home to help them prepare for and recover from orthopaedic surgery. Our Pocket Physio app is available for most devices.
Our commitment to your care
Following the Health Act 2009 all healthcare providers have a statutory requirement to publish a Quality Account. The quality of service patients receive at our hospitals is highlighted in this report. In it you’ll find examples of how we ensure quality across all areas of our service.
