Will Adams NHS Treatment Centre launches major bowls sponsorship

A major new sponsorship has been launched at one of Kent’s best-known indoor bowls centres in Gillingham.

CareUK, which runs the Will Adams NHS Treatment Centre, has become a major new sponsor of the English Indoor Bowling Association, which represents 285 clubs nationwide.

Sam Buckler, operations manager at the treatment centre, visited the Prince Arthur Road Indoor Bowls Centre at the start of the sponsorship. She said: “Indoor bowls is an exceptionally popular sport throughout Kent, with 17 clubs affiliated to the EIBA, the most in any county.

“For those people we see, who are suffering the wear and tear of years of competitive sport, bowls offers a truly competitive and tactical game. While it involves a range of movement, it does not impose heavy, jarring impact on the joints.

“It also gives people excellent opportunities to socialise and meet new people, which is important to maintaining and enhancing wellbeing.”

“We hope to have information on indoor clubs available throughout the county available at the centre for our patients.

“We also hope to have details in the bowls clubs about our centre’s treatments and short waiting times, which can be as short as eight weeks – open to all NHS patients.”

The EIBA represents 60 county associations. Chief Executive Peter Thompson said: “To secure Care UK Healthcare as an Official Partner is a tremendous boost to the Association and the sport.

“This is an exciting time for us. Not only will Care UK Healthcare be helping indoor bowlers of all ages when they need healthcare, they also want to help the sport develop by introducing their clients to an indoor club near them.”
